Terms of service

Last updated September 30, 2026

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Invoices ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app creates PDF invoices, packing slips and, on Pro, credit notes for your Shopify orders, issues sequential document numbers, and on Pro can email documents to your customers and let signed-in customers download their invoice. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your documents and your obligations

Documents are built from the order data in your Shopify store and the business details and settings you enter. You are responsible for that information being correct (for example your legal name, address and tax ID), for choosing numbering that suits your business, and for checking that the documents meet the invoicing, tax and record-keeping rules that apply to you. The app creates PDF documents; it is not an e-invoicing (XML) system and does not submit anything to tax authorities. Keep your own records: export the document register before uninstalling, because all store data is deleted 48 hours after uninstall.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

When the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings and actions;
  • process only the minimum data needed: customers' names, email addresses and billing and shipping addresses are read from Shopify only while a document is being made or emailed and are never stored; phone numbers are not read; the document register keeps document numbers, Shopify order and refund IDs, order numbers, dates and amounts;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting, database and email sending) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
  • delete all store data after uninstall (shop redaction), and act on customer erasure requests forwarded by Shopify as described in our privacy policy;
  • help you respond to data subject requests (the app lets you download what it holds for a customer's orders) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
